
INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS
Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU), founded in Hangzhou in 1956, is one of the key universities in Zhejiang province. The main campus of ZJNU is located at the cultural historical city of Jinhua in the central part of Zhejiang Province. The city links Shanghai and Hangzhou to the north, and Guangdong and Fujian provinces to the south. The university covers a total area of more than 200 hectares. Its green and beautiful campus furnishes an ideal place for
living, study and work.
The university consists of 16 colleges offering 52 undergraduate programs, 63 postgraduate programs including MED and MPA, and MA for Part-Time Vocational Education. The university is assigned by the Ministry of Education as the Key National Training Base for Teachers of Vocational Education. In addition, it is designated by the Ministry of Railways as a base for the training of locomotive engineers. Moreover, Zhejiang Training Center for University and College Teachers and Zhejiang Train Center for Kindergarten Teachers are assigned to the university for various in-service training programs. The university has full range of facilities with well-equipped library, laboratories, gymnasium, entertainment center, hospital, supermarket etc.
The university makes strenuous efforts to open up to the outside world. In recent years, ties of academic exchange and cooperation have been set up between this university and 77 foreign universities and institutes in more than 40 countries. The University has been authorized to accept short-term, long-term and government scholarship international students, and has set up Confucius Institute in both Ukraine and Cameroon. Approved by the Ministry of Education, ZJNU has put up a Base for Education
Assistance and Development to undertake human resource development projects for senior educational administrators from other continents. In addition, the university has been authorized to run a center for overseas studies so as to give relative helps for self-funded students to study in foreign countries. For all the advantages, more and more international students are coming to the university to pursue their study. Besides the main campus in Jinhua city, ZJNU has another campus in Hangzhou (the capital city of Zhejiang province). The applicants may select either of the campuses where they wish to study or in both
campuses for different periods.
Locations & Environment
Jinhua City, which enjoys a history of 2,000 years, developed commerce, scenic and amazing mountains and rivers, is located in central Zhejiang, one of the eastern coastal provinces of the People¨s Republic of China. Among the area, crowd many cultural resorts, historic attractions and famous relics. It is not only an outstanding place for tourists but the one in-between the developed coastal regions (including the Shanghai economic zone) and the inland areas.
Hangzhou, one of the seven Ancient Capitals of China, with numerous grottoes and statues, steles and ancient architectures, has long been enjoying the fame of a land flowing with fish and rice and is also famous for its silk and tea. The well-known Dragon-well Tea (Longjing Tea) grows here, too. As here goes the saying: There is a Paradise in the heaven; down the earth, they are Suzhou and Hangzhou.
The two cities have a distinct demarcation of the four seasons, with the annual average temperature about 17oC, and the rainfall about 1450mm. Jinhua is an important communication hub, with its highways and railways linking to all parts of the province as well as to other parts of the country.
