Foreign Teaches Wanted: Greetings from Xi'an University of Science and Technology !
We will need five or six English teachers each academic year. The students will be postgraduates , Ph.D students and English major students. The salary for each foreign teacher can be flexible, from 3000 to 5000 yuan per month according to different degree. Our request for the new teachers is that they are healthy, with a teaching certification or bachelor’s or a master’s degree, with two or three years' teaching experiences.(1) We will need three teachers to teach oral or conversational English and simple reading and writing skills to our graduate students whose problem is that they can't use English in a proper situation because of the less chance of speaking with native English speakers or can't use the language freely even though they can read a lot because of their vocabulary.(2) We need three other teachers to teach Spoken English, Listening comprehension, English corner instruction, English and American literature, Linguistics, Audio-visual-oral training , Introduction to England and America, advanced writing skills , Newspaper reading and Western cultures to our English major students of the English Department. The needed documents for application: Personnel C.V, copy of passport, copy of diploma, reference letters, and other documents upon request. And we hope the new teachers can take the teaching position for at least one year and two years We would like very much to introduce our conditions we can supply for the new teachers to you. We supply apartments with bedrooms, study rooms and each is equipped with air conditioning , computer accessing to internet, a color TV set, a washing machine, a set of sofa, a refrigerator, al kitchen , a bathroom and central heating system. Our school will cover the electricity fee and water cost for each month . The foreign teachers will pay the telephone and the gas fee . For those foreign teachers who will work more than one year , we will pay them the traveling fee-2200 yuan RMB at the end of each academic year and if there is a requirement from the new teachers, we'd cover their international round trip tickets according to their certain situation.

Here we write to you with an intention to purchase help from you for recommending foreign teachers to our University in the future, starting from September, 2006 till later years in the future.
Xi'an city is an ideal place for living, though it is not so beautiful, its people are friendly and honest, especially our students. Our school is located in the south part of the city, it’s right on the foot of the famous ancient tower “ the Big Goose Pagoda”. It has three campuses, two of them are served for teaching and one is for the staff residence. The foreign teachers will do their teaching in these two campuses. One is called “ North Campus” while the other is called “ Lington Campus”. The distance between the two campuses is about 30 kilometers. It takes 40 minutes to cover the distance. About 3000 freshmen study their first and second year in Lintong Campus which is located in Linton county 30 kilometers away from where the resident place. Its location is in the same place where the World’s Eighth Wonder “ Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Dynasty” is situated . And there are some class arrangements for one or two foreign teachers to teach the English major students there. Every morning a school bus will wait at the back gate of the resident campus for the teachers at 7:00am to go to Lintong and the return one is at 5:30 pm. Since there are only 6 hours each week in Lintong , so we usually arrange these hours within one day, that means these teachers will go to Lintong at 7:00am and teach there for four hours in the morning and have lunch , have a nap there and continue teaching for two hours in the afternoon and will go back to Xi’an City at 5:30. Still these teacher will have some teaching task in North Campus for six hours as well, and there will be 14 hours as basic working load for each week . The maximum amount of classes will be 16-18 hours each week and the teachers will get extra payment for extrahours. We encourage younger teachers to go to Linton Campus and we wish them a big success in teaching and wonderful time as well.
