General Information

Wuhan Institute of Technology, founded in 1973, a young and dynamic university, distinguishes itself as a leading role in the field of chemical industry in the south-centre of China. Today, it is home to over 18,000 registered students and 1,793 staff members. Education is student-centered and competency-based, and is closely linked to high-quality, original scientific research. The institute boasts centers of research excellence in chemical and pharmacy, environment and civil engineering, material science, electrical and electronic technology, computer science, languages and arts.
The beautiful and welcoming campuses are located in Wuhan, the capital of the Hubei province, heart of China. - a modern metropolis and center of education, finance, industry, trade and science, with many international companies located here.

Main Courses for Foreign Students
Chinese Language:

We provide Chinese language courses for international students from the aspects of listening, speaking, reading and writing. To guarantee the teaching quality, we will divide the students into different classes from beginning, junior, middle and senior levels according to their Chinese language proficiency. The number of students in each class is strictly kept small.

On the campus, there are hospital, bank, post office, supermarket, canteens and Internet system, and etc. with a cost about £¤10-15 for meals one person per day.
Four kinds of accommodation are provided for international students:

  1. University hotel, well-furnished and daily house-keeping service.
  2. International student apartment: furnished with air-conditioner, television, refrigerator, telephone, Internet system, washing machine, shower, and kitchen.
  3. Home-stay on the campus.
  4. Chinese students¡¯ dormitory

Enrollment procedures

  1. Ask for Application Form For Foreign Students of Wuhan Institute of Technology from Foreign Affairs Office. (Students can download such form from the Website of Wuhan Institute of Technology: http://fao.wit.edu.cn )
  2. Send the application form, application fees and other related documents by post, fax or email directly to Foreign Affairs Office before the application deadline.
  3. Admission Notice issued by Wuhan Institute of Technology and Visa Application for Study in China (JW202 form) will be sent to students screened and admitted.
  4. Admitted students should bring Admission Notice, Visa Application for Study in China (JW 202 form) and Physical Examination Record to the Chinese embassy for visa to China (X or F visa).
  5. Admitted students should bring Admission Notice, Visa Application for study in China (JW 202 form), passports, personal registration photos (8 for each person) and physical examination forms (Original blood test report, X-ray check-up and the electrocardiogram and etc.) to register at Wuhan Institute of Technology within the registration period indicated in Admission Notice and obtain the Residence License within 30 days after entering China. Students who fail to register within the registration period without proper reasons will be rejected. Exceptions can be made to students whose delay has been granted by the University in advance.
