Getting Around

1.Bank of Tianjin, shops, post office, dining hall are available on campus
2. Subway station and bus stops are close to the campus
3. The campus is 20 km away from Tianjin Binhai International Airport, and 60 km from Tianjin Port.
4. Bank of China is 0.3km away from the campus. Supermarket is quite near as well

Other Service On your arrival, we could pick you up either at Tianjin Binhai International Airport (RMB 120 yuan) or at Tianjin Port (RMB 250 yuan).

Payment Tuition fees and accommodation fee for international students are usually paid in China’s currency RMB. Tuition fees are paid every six months. Students who are over 45 years old should pay insurance fee as well. The expense of insurance is RMB 300 yuan.
Visa Issues When the semester begins, we will deal with visa issues for student. The service will be available at specific time.

Chinese Language Training Program

Students learn Chinese Pinyin firstly. Pronunciation and oral practice will be emphasized. By doing so, students could have basic ability to communicate.
Preliminary 1 10 Basic Chinese Language, Oral Chinese, Chinese Listening, Chinese for Tourism, Learning Chinese Language by Cartoon Video Students have basic knowledge of Pinyin and Chinese character. Students will improve oral Chinese and listening ability by practice. Students could pass HSK Band 4 Exam after one semester.
Medium 1 10 Medium Chinese Language, Medium Oral Chinese, Medium Chinese Listening, reading from journals, medium Chinese writing, HSK training  (Preliminary/Medium/Advanced) HSK Band 3 is a precondition. Students will improve Chinese  Language proficiency by practice. Students could pass HSK Band 6 after learning.
Advanced 1 7 Advanced Chinese Language, Advanced Oral Chinese, Advanced Chinese Listening, Chinese culture, medium Chinese writing, HSK training  (Preliminary/Medium/Advanced) HSK Band 4 is a precondition. Students will improve Chinese  Language proficiency by practice. Students could pass HSK Band 8 after learning.

Major Description
Trade and Commerce

1. It’s designed for Elementary Chinese language user. HSK Band 3 is necessary if you want to start the second year, or you have to repeat a year.
2. At least 6 months Chinese language learning experience is necessary.
3. International undergraduates will not be sent to study in the department with native students until the third and the fourth year. Students will get graduation certificate and Bachelor degree certificate. More than 400 undergraduates have graduated so far.
4. With HSK Certificate (Band 5), students can apply for other bachelor degree majors after learning Chinese in Trade and Commerce above 6 months.

2011 HSK Scholarship of Tianjin University of Finance and Economics (TUFE)

With HSK Certificate Band 6 or above, the undergraduates (including Transferred students) could apply for HSK Scholarship, when the student is granted admission by TUFE. The HSK Scholarship grants RMB 800 yuan each person once. The HSK Certificate is valid for two years.
Student should apply for HSK Scholarship within ten days from September 5, 2011

Application Procedures for 2011 CUCAS University Scholarship

CUCAS University Scholarship is a scholarship program run by top Chinese universities and CUCAS (China’s University and College Admission System) to provide full or partial tuition remission for outstanding international students. CUCAS provides the funds for this scholarship while the university assesses the scholarship applications.

Scholarship Details

  • Availability: 2
  • Amount: 1,000 US dollars

The CUCAS University Scholarship is only valid for the first time when applicants pay for the tuition fee. If the tuition fee is more than 1000 US dollars, applicants should pay for the rest part. If the tuition fee is less than 1000 US dollars, the rest part cannot be withdrawn.

  • Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.
  • Applicants must meet the enrollment requirements of the university.
  • Applicants must observe Chinese laws and regulations.
  • Applicants must be friendly to Chinese people and respect Chinese multiplicity of cultures and customs.

Application Documents

These application documents should be submitted.

  1. CUCAS Scholarship Application Form filled in Chinese or English. (Please refer to the attachment).
  2. Letter of acceptance.
  3. Highest diploma (notarized photocopy).
    University students or applicants employed shall also provide proof of studying or employment on application.
    Non English or Chinese language documentation requires a certified English or Chinese language translation.
  4. Academic transcripts (notarized photocopy).
    Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
  5. A study or research plan.
    All applicants are required to submit a study or research plan. It must be in Chinese or in English.
  6. Letters of recommendation
    Applicants must provide one letter of recommendation at least and the letters should be from professors or assistant professors, written in Chinese or English.
    Applicants for postgraduate studies, or study in China as senior scholars must submit two letters of recommendation.
  7. Photocopies of personal artwork
    Applicants for music studies are requested to submit a CD of the applicants’ own works. Applicants for fine arts programs must submit a CD of the applicants’ own works (including two sketches, two color paintings and two other works).
  8. A copy of Physical Examination Record for foreigners (please refer to the attachment).
    Foreigners, who intend to work or study in China for over 6 months, should go through a physical check-up before they come to China, according to the requirements of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners.
    The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Please select the appropriate time to take medical examination due to the 6-months validity of the medical results.
