Beijing Normal University, founded in 1902, is the first normal school in China. It boasts an excellent teaching staff and has developed a reputation as the most famous and successful normal school in China.

Beijing Normal University has 15 colleges such as education, teacher training, Chinese language and culture, psychology, and many others.There are 48 undergraduate subjects.

In particular, the Schools of Education, Psychology, and Continuing Education enjoy an excellent reputation across the country.

There are about 2500 teaching staff at BNU, 20,000 students (7000 are undergraduates) and 1000 international students.

Beijing Normal University has also recently developed some non-normal education apart from its normal education. Taking advantage of its knowledge and resources in education management, Beijing Normal University started a training program for teachers and cadres.
