Henan lies in the heart of China, and is the cradle of Chinese civilization. Apart from Longmen Grottoes one of the world cultural heritages, Henan is also well known worldwide for the Shaolin Temple and being the origin of Chen's style taiji, the birthplace of ZHANG Zhong-jing, and the roots of Chinese Medicine.

HUTCM is located in Zhengzhou capital city of Henan, where airline, railroad, and highway transportations are easily accessible. It has 3 campuses occupying a land of 1856mu. HUTCM comprises 12 schools, and offers 19 undergraduate and 25 postgraduate programs including Chinese Medicine, integrated Chinese and Western medicine, nursing, herbology, acupuncture and tuina, and preventive medicine.

The University faculty is made up of 2522 employees including 98 PhDs, 282 postgraduate instructors, 18 part-time doctoral tutors, and 18 experts receiving special grants from the State Council, 1 professor holding the state-nominated title of "Chinese Medicine Master,"and 13 nationally renowned clinical Chinese medicine doctors.

The university has presently over 16000 students including over 250 international students mainly studying Chinese medicine, integrated Chinese and Western medicine, acupuncture and tuina, and orthopedics. The university also enrolls students for Chinese language, medical qigong, medicated diet studies, and clinical practice.
