Capital Institute of Physical Education is the only one government-owned institution of higher physical education with more than 50 years of history in Beijing.

    Institute is located in Beijing's university district and main streets, where there are fine transportation, convenient shopping. There are foreign college students'apartments with air-conditioning, television, telephone, 24-hour hot water and broadband network. In addition to accommodation and teaching facilities, there are many other public services, such as student cafeteria, gyms, libraries (including English and Chinese materials) and clinics and so on. There are 7 main disciplines set in our institute, including Physical Education, Human Movement Sciences, Traditional Physics, Leisure and Social Physics, Public Issues Management (physics-management-oriented) and News (physical news), which enrolls four-year undergraduate students and three-year graduate students, and all the disciplines have rights to enroll the foreign students from all over the world. Institute establishes advanced-technological and large-scaled gyms for the physical training and competition and can used to hold each-leveled international competition. In 2008, the stadiums are the training places for foreign athletes in the Olympic Games. The staff of the institute is well-quality, 70% of the students with master degrees and 17% of the students with doctoral degrees. Above-mentioned two aspects are listed among the first-rank colleges of China. The international exchange center of our institute is responsible for receiving the foreign students and entertains the short-term academic exchanges groups. Each year, about more than 100 foreign students (including Chinese language learning and martial arts) will learn, visit and do cultural and academic exchanges in our institute.

    Institute carries out extensive international exchanges and cooperation and has established inter-university exchanges with the colleges from the United States, Finland, Japan, South Korea and other countries.

    Since the beginning of 1994 when the institute recruited foreign students, there are students who come from more than 40 countries learning and doing exchange visits here, including the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Algeria, Switzerland, South Africa, Spain, Portugal, El Salvador, Ukraine, Russia, Congo, Singapore, Ireland, Belgium, Mexico, Indonesia, Brazil, Malaysia, Yugoslavia, Morocco, Austria, India, Argentina, the Philippines, Malta, Luxembourg, Romania, Israel, South Korea and Japan.

    If the students are the undergraduate education, graduate education and long-term advancing students (martial arts and Chinese) perform well in study, they can apply for the scholarship granted by Beijing government and be reduced a sum of tuition fees. Our institute will provide the comprehensive health insurance of 500,000RMB for the registered students who study for more than one month and be responsible for preparing the visa procedures for all signed students.
