At present, MUC has 21 colleges and departments, 71 bachelor's degree programs, 62 master's degree programs, and 23 doctor's degree programs. Its ethnology, Chinese ethnic minority language and literature, Chinese ethnic minority art and etc. rank the first in China and are well-known in the world.All majors are open to international students. Today, MUN has a teaching faculty of 1,003 members,including 192 professors and 337 associate professors.

It is one of the first eight universities in China that enrolled international students and began teaching and researching Chinese as a foreign language. The College of International Education is a special agency that is responsible for recruitment, Chinese teaching and management of as well as service to all international students at MUC. The college has all necessary facilities and an excellent team of teachers. Over 90% of the full-time teachers have qualification certificates for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. For international students, MUC provides small classes and one-to-one instruction.
