I¡¢Introduction
Ningxia University, a key provincial university jointly built by The Ministry of Education and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, is situated in Yinchuan, capital of Ningxia. Yinchuan, located in the Yinchuan Plain above the upper-reaches of the Yellow River, is a historically famous city in China with many places of historic interest and scenic beauty and the convenient communication and transportation with the trains and planes to different main cities of China.
Ningxia University is a multi-disciplinary comprehensive university with a history of 50 years, offering 9 disciplines (literal arts, natural science, engineering, etc) including 68 specialties for undergraduates. The school has more than 53 master and doctorate spots and an enrollment of about 30,000 students and a professional teaching staff of 2,709. The school is among the first batch of qualified universities authorized by The Ministry of Education to enroll the overseas students. What¡¯s more, the school has a large number of the teaching- the-foreign-student staff with good quality and rich experience and also has good teaching equipment and high teaching reputation. Over the years, the overseas students trained by the school have all achieved good results in The National Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), with the best performance of reaching level 10. The school with a beautiful and comfortable environment on campus is an ideal place for the overseas students to further their studies.

A. Teaching Chinese As a foreign Language
Various terms and levels of courses are provided for overseas students who study the Chinese Language or who need a preparatory training of Chinese leading to undergraduate or postgraduate study in other specialties and departments.
1.Long Term Program (More Than Half A Year)
Compulsory Courses: Intensive Reading , Extensive Reading ,Listening ,Oral Chinese , Reading and Writing of Chinese Characters, Composition , Grammar
Optional Courses: General Knowledge of Modern Chinese ,
Chinese Culture ,Chinese History ,Chinese Geography,
Business Chinese ,Calligraphy, Training is HSK
2.Short Term Program (Within Half A Year)
The university provides with A,B,C,D four levels of Chinese courses for students with different levels and requirements
B. Specialties for Undergraduate and Postgraduates Program
The university offers about 68 undergraduate disciplinary areas and 53 postgraduate specialties for overseas students to choose. We have trained certain number of undergraduate and postgraduate students, and some of them have entered the famous universities for Doctor's Degree. We're very pleased to offer information and service to the students who would like to study in Ningxia University for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Program and to achieve the qualifications under item 2.
IV.Activities and Travel
A. Get-togethers with Chinese students twice a year .
B. Visiting the city of Yinchuan and places nearby twice a year, free of charge. C.Organizing the students to Xi¡¯an, Yan¡¯an, Lanzhou, Dunhuang, Baotou, Huhehaote, Chengdu and Emei Mountain for travel during winter and summer vocation according to their own will.
D. Expressing congratulations to the students for their birthdays and festivals.
V.Schooling Certificate
After completing the required courses and passing the exams, all overseas students who study in Ningxia University will be granted relevant certificate:
Short term students: Certificate of Studying Here
Long term students: Certificate of Completion
Undergraduate and Postgraduate students: Diploma and Certificate of Relevant Academic Degree
VI.Living Facilities
The newly complete apartment building for overseas students provides standard suites with kitchen, toilet, cupboard TV set refrigerator, electric fan, a telephone, a washing machine and gas cook for those who would like to cook their own food.
Built in the center of the school campus, the apartment-building is within the easy reach of the shopping places, the cinema the gymnasium and the hospital.
VIII.Application Procedure
1. Any one who wishes to study in the school may first contact us either by letter or by telephone or by fax and claim for an International Students Application Form for Admission to Ningxia University.
2. After filling in form , please mail or fax it back to Ningxia University soon.
3. Once admitted, an Admission Notification and a Visa Application Form for Admission to China (also called JW202 Form) will be mailed to the applicants. With the two documents, the applicants can apply for an X visa from the local China Embassy or Consulate.
