And now we turn to one of the most documented Chinese movie stars of all time, and one of the greatest icons of martial arts cinema. Fans in Hong Kong are now marking the 40th anniversary of the death of Bruce Lee, with art gallery shows, exhibitions and even street graffiti. And many people are urging the government to do even more to honour one of the city's biggest stars.

The exhibition is named "Bruce Lee: Kung Fu. Art. Life" and displays over 600 items, including photos, costumes, props and videos.

Lee was born in San Francisco in November 1940 and raised in Hong Kong until his late teens. He rose to stardom in the United States in the 1970s, and forever changed how Asians are portrayed in Hollywood films.

But he is also known for his philosophical thinking and poetry. They reflect his central belief that all knowledge leads to self knowledge, and this thinking is reflected in his fighting philosophy.

Lee died from cerebral edema in 1973 while he was filming in Hong Kong. His daughter Shannon was only 4 at the time.

Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee's Daughter, said, "You know, I remember our house, I remember going to the sets at Golden Harvest, and I remember playing with him. But my most vivid memory is the feeling of him, that I remember. That sort of connection of his energy, when he focused his attention on you, it was so powerful. And he was so loving, and so playful. And he can also be, you know, very strict as a father and that sort of thing. But always with kindness and love. And he was ... I just remember the feeling of being around him, and that's really what I treasure most."

Apart from the exhibition, the Hong Kong SAR is producing documentaries of his life and new prints of some of Lee's films.

But some fans think it is not enough, and demand that a permanent museum be built in Hong Kong for the Kungfu icon.

Adam Chow, Bruce Lee Fan, said, "The government, they just do too little, too less Bruce Lee's memorable, like a museum, or any promotion for him. I think it is too late, and too little. So I guess, I think, I hope, they will do some more."

What WAS done for Lee is this statue of him in full Kungfu flight. It sits at the Avenue of the Stars next to the Victoria Harbour.

Tourists come in droves to pay tribute to him everyday.

People may disagree about whether enough has been done to honor him, but there's no doubt he ought to be revered for his incredible contribution to presenting Chinese Kungfu to the world.
