Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood just had its 85th birthday. In the past 85 years, several hundred Hollywood entertainment stars have left their handprints and footprints in front of the theater. With the Chinese elements appearing in Hollywood film industry, some Chinese stars have also left their handprints and footprints in front of the theater. According to the director of Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Chinese visitors are warmly welcomed to the theater and they also hope to cooperate with China in the future so as to add more Chinese elements to the theater.
 
Sid Grumman, a famous Hollywood entertainment practitioner founded Grauman's Chinese Theatre in 1927. The reason why Grumman founded Grauman's Chinese Theatre was that Grumman had a close Chinese friend Keye Luke who was also a versed actor. Luke was born in Seattle and sought his livelihood in Los Angeles in the 1920s when he met Grumman. After that, they became very good friends. Luke's accomplishments with and interest in China and oriental culture had a great influence on Grumman and encouraged Grumman in building Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

The another tradition of Grauman's Chinese Theatre is the handprints and footprints impressing ceremonies held in front of the theater in memory of the most valuable Hollywood stars. Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks were the first to leave their handprints and footprints in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre. So far, a total of 40 red carpet premieres and 3 Oscar award ceremonies have been held in Grauman's Chinese Theatre, including the premieres of "Star Wars" and "Harry Potter". Kung Fu stars Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan from Hong Kong, China and Chinese film director John Woo have also left their handprints and footprints in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

Alwen Kushner said that 4 million visitors are received in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre every year, which means nearly 20 thousand visitors are received every day. Many visitors come from afar in order to put their hands and feet on the handprints and footprints of the most famous Hollywood stars and to have a close experience of Hollywood. Kushner said that they warmly welcome diverse cooperation with China so as to add more Chinese elements to the theatre.
