Leshan Normal University, a state-owned institution of higher education, is located in the downtown area of Leshan City, which is the only one cultural and natural heritage site in west part of China, ranked by UN Educational, and Scientific & Cultural Organization in 1996. And our campus is facing the world-famous Leshan Giant Buddha across the DaduRiver. There are 3 great rivers around the city, and about 30 kilometers away from Mountain Emei to the west of the University.Leshan Normal University has a teaching staff of over 1200, among of them 70 are professors, 230 associate professors.

The university has 12 departments or sub-colleges with over 15,000 students, and it covers over 1000 acres. About the foreign teachers of the university, at present, we have 9 foreign teachers who are young people between 24-40 from U.S.A, U.K., New Zealand, Japan and Norway etc. and among all of 70 colleges and universities of Sichuan Province, we have more foreign teachers than any other colleges and universities except Sichuan University and SichuanNormalUniversity. In addition, two of the foreign teachers of the college will be awarded the title of best foreign teachers by the college and Sichuan Government due to their hard work every year. Our foreign teachers have got recognized by the college and society up to now, CCTV-1, CCTV-7 and Leshan TV reported them all.

All the foreignteachers will be arranged to live together in one apartment building, which offers good living environment for them to make friends and share their teaching ideas. And each foreign teacher will have their own apartment to live, which is about 60 square meters, with a bedroom of full beddings, a living room, two balconies, one kitchen with all utensils, a toilet, shower, heater, air-conditioner, refrigerator, washing machine, micro-wave Oven, Electronic-magnetic oven, Color TV, one computer connected the internet, etc, which is very comfortable for all the foreign teachers to live, work and study. All above are free for you to use.

In addition, we also arrange four Chinese courses for them to learn Chinese per week. Each foreign teacher will have one Chinese teacher as counterpart to help you in your life and teaching.

The weather in Leshan is quite comfortable, and the living cost is lower than Chengdu, all the foreign teachers can have meals in the Canteen of the university, and also you can cook by yourself. Furthermore, about 600 Yuan RMB is enough for you to live here every month.

For the salary, to the foreign teachers who just teach English Language will be paid 3500-4000 Yuan RMB for each month, which is equal to 5000 Yuan RMB in Chengdu, and 7000-8000 Yuan RMB in Beijing and Shanghai.

For the foreign teachers' teaching courses, on average, you will deliver about 16 lectures every week, including oral English, writing, listening and speaking etc., to 19 to 23 years old students.

Every year, the school will organize 1-2 times trip around Sichuan Province.
