Recently, the State Archives Administration and the Central Archives in Fengsheng Hutong in Beijing's Xicheng District opened its door and invited nearly 100 domestic and foreign journalists to visit the archives and held a press conference. This was a large-scale activity of opening the archives to the public.

The State Archives Administration and Central Archive demonstrated valuable materials to domestic and foreign journalists. These include the first resolution of the Communist Party of China, the first programmatic document, Mao Zedong's composition in his juvenile years and the opening speech for the first session of the first National People's Congress, written by Mao Zedong.

Talking about the next step in opening the archives to the public, Yang Dongquan, Director of the State Archives Administration and head of the Central Archives said, "We will surely further open the State Archives Administration to the public. We plan to establish a department for urban citizens. All the open archives are available there."
