An exhibition featuring 62 works by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso opened to the public on Tuesday in Shanghai, becoming the largest and longest-running exhibition of its kind ever held in the Chinese mainland.

Forty-eight paintings by Picasso, one of the 20th century's most influential artists, as well as seven sculptures and seven prints will be on display for three months at the China Pavilion on the former site of the Shanghai World Expo, according to organizers.

The works characterize Picasso's various artistic styles throughout his entire career. It is the first time for most of the paintings to be put on display in the Chinese mainland, including "The Barefoot Girl" which he created at the age of 14.

Admission is 80 yuan (about 12.5 U.S. dollars).
