Thailand, August 18th, 2011 - The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Suan Dusit Rajabhat University celebrated its 36th anniversary. Suan Dusit Rajabhat University President Dr. Sirote Phonpuntin, the Chinese president of the Confucius Institute at Suphanburi and Huang Liyun, Director of Guangxi University International Exchange Office were all in attendance.

The celebration involved a presentation of teaching achievements and a cultural exhibition, with each major of the School of Humanities and Social Science organizing a booth. Confucius Institute at Suphanburi was invited to participate in the exhibition as a partner institution of the Chinese major and gained more attention. Several exhibits such as the traditional art of tea, calligraphy, Chinese knots and paper cutting, displayed, as always, the unique elegance of Chinese culture; and the newly-added zither allowed Thai students who were familiar with the guitar to appreciate the endless charm of Chinese string music for the first time. Joy and laughter at the booths attracted attention throughout the venue.

Moreover, this celebration coincided with the annual "Martial Art and Dance Month" of the Confucius Institute at Suphanburi. The performance team of the Suphanburi College of Dramatic Arts was present on invitation and enriched the celebration with a wonderful performance of the Chinese martial art "Changquan" and dance "Guangling Verse" under the guidance of the martial art and dance teachers of Guangxi University.

This is the fifth year since the joint development of Chinese education and Chinese cultural events by the Confucius Institute at Suphanburi and the School of Humanities and Social Science. The results have been gratifying, and both parties hope to continue enhancing cooperation and communication to develop and select Chinese textbooks and train local teachers to promote the development of the Suan Dusit Rajabhat University Chinese major to the next level.
