"Chinese Kung Fu Hot" in Confucius Institute of Alfred University

"Part the Wild Horse's Maneton Both Sides", "White Crane Spreads Its Wings", "Hand Play Pipa", a very coherent natural movements shows a professional Tai Chi practice. Every morning, a group of Tai Chi lovers would practice Tai Chi with the elegant Chinese music. Their silhouette adds a bright scenery line for Alfred University.

Confucius Institute at Alfred University always attaches importance to the spreading of Chinese martial arts culture. In the early of 2011, CIAU invited Hukai, professor of China University of Geosciences, to come to Alfred University to teach Tai Chi. The movements of Tai Chi is like flowing waters and drifting clouds, embodying the beauty of interfusing pliability with harness, and thus attracts many teachers and students in Alfred University at a time and suddenly becomes a "Chinese Kung Fu Craze" on campus.

Recently, "Chinese Kung Fu Craze" at Alfred University continues to be warming up. Liu Guifang, a coach from Changsha, China came to Alfred and continued to teach people 24 Type Tai Chi. Meanwhile she taught people Wudang Too b slender boxing and Youlong sword.

 

Among the practitioners, Angela is the eldest, 78 years old. She is a retired professor of Alfred University. She said every morning she learned Tai Chi, in the afternoon she watched Kung Fu Channel on Confucius Institute Online, and in the evening lying in bed, she memorized the movements learned in the day. Less in one month, she became a "Chinese Kung Fu Fan".

Iris, an artist, practiced very well for her movements extend elegantly. She said now what the most looking forward to her is to practice Tai Chi every day.

Liu Guifang, a master of Wushu, said to practice Chinese Kung Fu is good to regulate people's body and mental status; moreover, martial arts is a representative of Chinese traditional culture. By learning Chinese Kung Fu, one can recuperate body and mind and experience Chinese culture in motion. This is the reason why Chinese Kungfu becomes more and more popular abroad.
