SEOUL, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Xinhua News Agency of China held a photography exhibition in Seoul on Wednesday, showcasing about 50 pictures taken by its sports journalists in the past 10 years.
The exhibition, which runs from June 29 to July 1, was held at Sangmyung University with the attendance of Chen Hai, political counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Seoul. It consists of photos from an array of national and international sporting events, the key moments in sports history and sports personalities all captured by Xinhua's sports photographers. Xinhua's Seoul bureau chief Ji Xinlong spoke at the event that the photos from major sporting events including Olympic Games and Asian Games would provide an opportunity to examine changes and trends in sports history. He hoped this photo exhibition would contribute to China-South Korea friendship and overall bilateral cooperation. The photo show was also lauded by local communities. "The photos bring me back memories of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. I can feel the passion that I had back then," said Im Sun-bin, a 21- year-old student who was watching the exhibition. The "Xinhua Gallery" was initiated in 2010 by Xinhua News Agency, China's national news agency, in an effort to enhance China's cultural exchanges with other countries through displaying selected photos.
