About Xinjiang Normal University
Xinjiang Normal University was founded in December, 1978. The campus has 20 colleges, 46 majors for undergraduate degree.5 level subjects and 46 second subjects for master degree besides Master of Education, Chinese International Education, Arts, P.E., and Translation and so on. Majors for undergraduate and master are covered with philosophy, economy, law, education, literature, history, theory, engineering, and administration. The campus has established the relationships of communication and cooperation with Japan, U.S.A., Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkey. In 2008, the campus has established Confucius Institute together with Kyrgyzstan Ethnic University and Tajikistan Ethnic University.

About International Cultural Exchange College
International Cultural Exchange of Xinjiang Normal University is responsible for teaching and research of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. The college has started the teaching program of   international students since 1990s. Up till now, there have been more than 2000 international students from more than 20 different countries to study Chinese language, among which there are U.K., U.S.A. Australia, Russia, Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The college has possessed different teaching programs, such as two-year master of Chinese international education, four-year undergraduate of business Chinese, long-term and short-term Chinese learning and training. Apart from this, it has scholarships of Confucius Institute, Chinese government, and silky Road. The college has also possessed teaching group with the vigor of youth and the optimization of teachers' organizations. Currently, the college has already set up suitable curriculum and specific characteristics in administrating international students have come into being. It has established culture practice base with 16 enterprises and administration, major practice base with 20 units. These bases have provided platform for international students to get job and practice by means of cultural performance.

Program, Enrollment time and tuition fee
Chinese long-term learning program
Enrolled in August, semester begins in September. Learn Chinese for one academic year. Pay 12, 000 RMB per year per one. Medical Insurance is 600RMB per year per one.

Chinese short-term learning program
Learn Chinese for 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks, 10 weeks, and 12 weeks.. Pay 2, 600 RMB 4 weeks per one. Pay 500 RMB if extending one week.
Small-class language learning
According to the requirement of international students, the college offers Chinese and Uyghur small classes on weekends, summer holidays and winter holidays. Tuition fee is based on time length, number and period.
B. L. of Chinese (Business Chinese, Russian-Chinese Translation )
Learn Chinese for 4 academic years. Pay 14, 400 RMB per year per one. Medical Insurance is 600RMB per year per one.
Master for Chinese International Education
Learn Chinese for 2 academic years. Pay 17, 600 RMB per year per one. Medical Insurance is 600RMB per year per one.

Application requirements and procedure
Non-Chinese citizens who hold valid passport and is willing to obey Chinese laws and regulations of Xinjiang Normal University can land www.xjnu.edu.cn to International Cultural Exchange College, from which the application form for international students can be downloaded, or contact the office directly which is in charge of the application and administration. 

Procedures as follows
Ask for the Application Information, Application Form and Medical Examination Form from the office. Fulfill the forms and return to the office with other data required by International Cultural Exchange College.
The university checks the data and decides whether enrolling the candidates or not.
The candidate must hold JW202 form, Admission notice, Medical Examination form, and his own passport to obtain studying visa (X) in Chinese Embassy in the candidate's country.
Register within the fixed time after receiving the Admission Notice.
If the international student is ready to learn in Xinjiang Normal University, he can obtain short-term travel visa to China in Chinese Embassy in his own country. He can enroll in Xinjiang Normal University directly after arriving in China. When passing check-up, he can register in the university and delay or change the visa.

Life and Accommodation Information
Xinjiang Normal University stands in the centre of Urumqi. It has convenient traffic and elegant environment. Within the campus there are Chinese restaurant, western restaurant, cafe and Muslim restaurant. There are sports facilities, hospital, bank, supermarket, post office and laundry room.
