Bangor - An event is being held in Bangor to help spread the teaching of Chinese culture and language.

The Maine Chinese Conference is being held on the Husson University Campus.

Coordinator Jing Zhang says it's a great chance for folks to indulge in the Chinese culture and learn how to bring it to more maine schools.

The two day conference features workshops ranging from methods of teaching foreign languages, to the use of advanced classroom technology in teaching Chinese.

"It's very, very important for everyone. All the teachers, all the students together to share the learning, the communication. How the best way to learn, the best way to teach. That would be great for everybody to benefit from this conference."
