Exchange program benefits American and international students2010-6-30 16:35:00 From: usaeducationguides.com
International students may be surprised to learn that many U.S. undergraduate programs have partnerships with schools abroad. These programs are designed to allow students from other countries study in America.
For example, Cornell University's Graduate School of Management has announced the addition of a certificate program and partnership with the Guanghua School of Management of Peking University in China. Cornell also has a similar program with China's Nanjing University. Students enrolled in the certificate program through the Guanghua School will come to the Johnson School for a week of training, and may participate in research devoted to effective management of inter-cultural interactions and multicultural teams. "On the one hand, it may expose students from both schools to international perspective, help to develop their global mindset and enhance the inter-cultural understanding; the Alliance will also drive the faculty from the two schools to synergize their expertise in their collaborated research projects, which will greatly facilitate the creation of new management knowledge," said Zhi-Xue Zhang, professor of organization management at the Guanghua School of Management. Similar collaborative programs exist with schools in Dubai, Columbia, Canada and India. In addition to preparing Americans for study and work in multicultural settings, such programs allow international students to experience American customs and academia, and many inspire them to enroll in graduate programs in the U.S. Total:1 Page: 1
