Indonesia encourages healthy life among school children2010-6-28 17:02:00 From: xinhua
BOGOR, Indonesia, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia is encouraging healthy life among school children, a government minister said here on Monday.
Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih in her remarks to open a program called "Little Doctors Camp", said that school children are assets for the country's future. "They are strategic targets for the government's health program as they take up one third of population and are easy to reach as they are well-organized," said Endang. "School children in Indonesia should get more attention so that they could contribute maximally to the nation," she added. According to Endang, 'the little doctors' have a significant role in promoting healthy life style for themselves and their friends in such activities as maintaining cleanliness, health and environment preservation. "The little doctors are expected to help teachers and health officers in school," she said. Erwin Cahyadi, Senior Brand Manager of PT Unilever Indonesia, the sponsor of the event, said that the program is a place for education for clean and healthy life style. "Elementary school children are the right targets of the education," he said. Total:1 Page: 1
