June 21, 2010 -- In her commencement address to George Washington University's class of 2010, Michelle Obama challenged students to take advantage of every opportunity to spend time abroad and expand their worldview: "As those of you who have already participated in study abroad know, the most lasting lessons don't always come from books," she said. The leading postsecondary education portal in the country is taking the First Lady's global commitment to heart.

"Today's generation of students has a great opportunity to get out of the classroom and do some real-world learning," says Bill Colvin, director of international recruitment at The CollegeBound Network."The First Lady is in tune with the fact that the future of higher education must include a global perspective."

With its newest site, MyGlobalEducation.com, The CollegeBound Network offers a one-stop hub of learning opportunities abroad, whether degree programs, ESL transition programs, career education, gap-year programs, boarding schools, volunteer programs, teaching abroad, or others. Through engaging and informative articles, students gather the resources they need to go global.

Because, according to Obama, time spent abroad makes students "stronger, more competitive, a more valuable asset for a career in the public or private sectors." And, she added, "You'll never learn a language or develop self-reliance as quickly as you will when you're on your own in a foreign country!"

The Obama administration is committed to expanding exchange programs and study abroad opportunities in order to put global education within reach of more and more students. Similarly, The CollegeBound Network demonstrates its dedication to international education as students all over the world utilize MyGlobalEducation.com to search study abroad programs by area of interest, degree path, or destination and get matched to the best overseas learning opportunities.

"Our goal is that all students come to realize the opportunities available to them through their universities' and other organizations' study abroad programs," adds Colvin. ["MyGlobalEducation.com enables students to do just that."
