A daylong 'China Education Exhibition 2010' was held in North South University (NSU) on Thursday last. Dilip Borna, Industry Minister, was the chief guest whilst Zhang Xianyi, Ambassador of China in Bangladesh was the special guest.
Besides, M. A Kashem, Chairman of the Board of Governors, NSU, and Dr. Hafiz G.A. Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor of NSU, Dr. Khaliquzzaman M. Elias, Director of Confucius Institute at NSU, Hong Tianqiu, Vice President of Hefei University of Technology, Xiang Kai Fu, the cultural counselor, Chinese Embassy in Dhaka were present in the inaugural ceremony. After inaugural ceremony the guests visited various stalls and exchanged different views. As many as 36 Chinese Universities of diverse disciplines participated in the exhibition. Some of them are Peking University, Beijing University of Posts Telecommunications, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine ad Bohai University etc. The chief guest Dilip Borua said that People's Republic of China had opened up their windows under a single roof particularly to the students. He also said that through this education exhibition, Bangladesh and China would come closer in the field of education and knowledge. The Chairman of the Board of Governors of NSU, M. A. Kashem, said that The People's Republic of China has a five thousand years' glorious history of ideas and education. Their original contribution to human civilization is well known. A nation that invents paper and printing cannot be but the great achiever and patron of education and learning. It is notable that the Confucius Institute of North South University is the only institution in Bangladesh who is organizing such kind of fair every year. In collaboration with Yunnan University in Kunming, NSU was the first among all the universities of South Asia to establish Confucius Institute. Total:1 Page: 1
