Chinese teachers popular in Australia2010-5-14 16:41:00 From: people.com.cn
Eight primary and secondary schools from the Grampians Region of Australia have signed a cooperation contract for introducing Chinese language teaching with eight primary and secondary schools in Nanjing province during the recently concluded "NanjingBallarat Presidents Forum on Chinese Language Teaching and Research in Australia," hosted by the Jiangsu Nanjing Education Bureau and the Australia Grampians Education Bureau.
Since the establishment of "Confucian Classrooms" in Ballarat, Australia in October 2009, Australia has witness a hot rise in learning Chinese and understanding Chinese culture. Therefore, the demand of Chinese teachers has increased in Australia. The "Confucius Classrooms" are approved by the China National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (NOCFL) under the Ministry of Education to promote Chinese language and Chinese culture, which were opened to primary and secondary schools worldwide by domestic schools.
