LYNU is a state-owned university. It is one of the oldest universities in Shandong province. The university consist of six campuses and offers courses in Chinese Literature, Law, Economics, History, Education, Management, Science, Industry, and Agriculture. There are 14 departments. At present, the university has more than 35,000 full-time students on campus, with over 2000 staff.
Among the faculty, there are two Fellows of Chinese Academy of Science and one Fellow of Chinese Academy of Engineers. Teachers from the United States, Britain, Russia and other nations are employed to teach or research here. Linyi Normal University has established relationships with the University of Illinois, California State University, Truett-McConnell College, and New Haven University of the U.S., Kansan Pedagogical University of Russia, as well as universities in France, Britain, Germany, and South Korea. The University of Illinois and California State University of the U.S. help LYTU with the software and management systems.
The library has a collection of 2.1 million volumes, and the total value of the university’s teaching facility and equipment is more than 100 million RMB.
