This website provides a search window to link to branch offices in other cities and provinces. The major links on the English mirror site include: personal banking, corporate banking, e-banking, online financing, and online shopping. The website also offers links to online exchange rates for a number of foreign currencies, stock quotes, deposit rates, loan rates, and the banks fees. Several of these links are still under construction. Corporate banking services are available to members who must register in order to access this service. There is no information on how to register or the cost of doing so. Information on the major links is as follows: corporate banking (deposits, including foreign exchange deposits; credit management, including commercial loans; foreign exchange business; settlement business, including enterprise banking service; corporate intermediate business such as merchant banking; and corporate e-banking); e-banking (internet banking, telephone banking, corporate banking, mobile phone banking); online financing (securities and insurance); personal banking (savings deposits, loans, bank cards, foreign exchange, loss reporting, intermediary business, e-banking); and online shopping (payments). Not all of these services are accessible as yet. New services and industry developments are posted on the web, but are still under construction.

Located in Hong Kong, this regional branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China offers banking services which include: deposits, loans, insurance, securities trading, phone banking, credit cards, and payments. Deposits into savings accounts are accepted in many currencies, but there is limited information online concerning this service. Other deposit types include time deposits and special terms for large deposits. Loans available include mortgage and personal. Insurance includes home, domestic helper, travel, car, personal accident, and life. The website also lists branches of the bank in Hong Kong, subsidiaries of the bank, an introduction to the bank, news on the bank such as its annual report, resources for purchasing real estate, information on job opportunities, and an online contact link. In addition, there are links for internet banking, ATM banking, and information on navigating the website. There is a direct link for emailing the bank which would be useful for obtaining information on deposit services not available on the website.

With branches in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, and Japan, this bank offers the following services: individual banking, industry news, website news, financial, and deposits. There is online information concerning the regulations for foreign currency deposits; however, some of these links are hard to access. There is also an email link. The website does not provide links to provincial branches of the bank. Moreover, no English mirror site is provided.

This website contains an English mirror site which details a small portion of the information available on the Chinese site. There is a site search engine available only in Chinese. There are also links to several provincial branches of the bank, including Guangdong Province, on the Chinese site, but not on the English site. ATM locations, posted foreign currency exchange rates, information on personal banking and financial services, credit cards, corporate banking, import and exports services, and investment are all resources available only in Chinese. The English mirror site contains information on the bank's history, e-banking services, private banking, cash management, the Bank of China's First International Universal Investment Bank, and detailed news on the bank and its activities. Services include: credit cards, deposits, online and phone banking, loans, and remittances. Through savings deposits, multiple currencies can be integrated into a time deposit or current account deposit. The details of this deposit service are clearly delineated online.

This website provides a search window to link to branch offices in other cities in China on both the Chinese site and the English mirror site. This website is very good for industry news. There is an online contact link. Contact can also be made via email: ccb@bj.china.com. Services detailed on the website include: a variety of credit cards, transfer cards, and savings cards; international operations such as financing, merchant banking, international settlements, currency exchange, treasury services, credit investigations, services in Euro currency, information on overseas branches and domestic branches that conduct international transactions; and online banking and payments for different cities including Guangzhou. Information about online banking and payments, however, is only available in Chinese. As far as foreign currency deposits, the bank offers multi-currency remittances, account settlement, and term deposits. However, the details of each of these services are not available on the English mirror site.


People's Bank of China

The English mirror site on this website is still under construction. The website contains news about the industry. Contact via email is possible: master@pbc.gov.cn. There is a search engine available on the website. Other links available include: an introduction to the bank, financial services, personal banking, payments, links to other banks in China, and a detailed statistical bulletin containing information such as the bank's foreign currency reserves which is available in both English and Chinese. Details on deposit services are not clearly given on the website.

This website offers a search window to link to branch offices in other cities in China and a link to other banks in China. There is no English mirror site available. Other links include industry news and company information. Services detailed online include: online banking, credit cards, and foreign exchange. The bank handles foreign exchange and has many special services connected to foreign currencies. Services related to foreign currencies are clearly delineated online. Deposits in foreign currencies are possible but subject to limitations as are other transactions in foreign currencies. It seems that only certain domestic branches of the bank deal with such transactions. There is no address given for the main branch. Contact is via email: webmaster@hq.bankcomm.com.


China International Trust and Investment Corporation

The website contains links to news related to the company (CITIC), to other CITIC companies involved in finance and insurance, to information about CITIC, the structure of CITIC, the company's mission, and its services. Services related to the finance industry include: two commercial banks, a securities firm, an insurance company, and trust and leasing corporations. The two commercial banks are CITIC Industrial Bank and CITIC Ka Wah Bank. Although these banks' services are not detailed on the website, it is likely that these banks deal in foreign currency accounts because CITIC not only has thirty-eight subsidiary banks in places such as Hong Kong, the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Europe but also deals in joint projects with international companies. Moreover, CITIC Ka Wah Bank is listed on the Hong Kong stock market, is located in Hong Kong, and lists its assets in Hong Kong dollars. These two banks also have websites: www.citicib.com.cn and www.citickawahbank.com which can be accessed via CITIC's structure schematic link listed on the website.
