As one of the 4 countries having ancient civilization in the world, China has the long history of which we are proud and the culture which is rich, colorful and brilliant. While the economy of China is developing rapidly and China is becoming more and more important on the stage of the world, Chinese language, attracting more and more attention from the world, has become one of the important criteria for many countries to educate and evaluate the new internationalized professionals having high comprehensive qualities.
Beijing Huijia Private School is an open and internationalized school. In order to amplify the international cultural exchange, propel the Chinese language study and the spread of Chinese culture, it regularly organizes foreigners and the children of the foreign citizens with Chinese origin to come to the school every year, study and exchange with the Chinese children, and personally experience the long history of Chinese language and culture and the extensive knowledge and profound scholarship of Chinese civilization. It helps the world to learn about China; it helps more children of the foreign citizens with Chinese origin to learn about the native language and the hometown, and it helps them to experience the life at the hometown. At the same time, the camper may observe China in the aspects of natural scenery, humanistic geography and unique local customs.

| 一)The Summer Camp has the following features: Since the year 2000, the Foreign Students Division of our school has successfully organized many Chinese language training programs and summer/winter camps, especially the “Transfer to Huijia” Chinese Language Summer Camp in the years 2005 and 2006, for which we have admitted over 200 students from over 10 countries such as the USA, Canada, France, the UK, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Russia, etc. We have summarized the experience for the past 2 years and improved our work to organize the forthcoming Summer Camp in a better way. We have improved our menu and added ordinary family dishes and feature dishes, which helps the camper to learn about the dietary culture of China while tasting delicious food.
The 2007 Summer Camp shall offer the periods varying in length from 2 to 10 weeks for the campers to choose. The summer camp shall teach all the Chinese language lessons around the themes such as Chinese culture, an overview of China, Chinese customs, Chinese sights and cultural essence. The experienced teachers teaching Chinese as a foreign language shall write the textbook. For the student having certain Chinese language foundation, we shall arrange the HSK (An examination of proficiency in Chinese) guidance course to help him improve his HSK score. We shall offer the Chinese practice lessons, during which the camper shall, through the outdoor practice activities and the community activities, by visiting the historical sights, museums, etc, personally experience and learn about Chinese customs, and become interested in studying Chinese language.
二)The curriculum has the following features:
Taking it as the core to offer an overview of Chinese culture, highlighting the features of the teaching contents, and having a wide coverage, the curriculum shall be taught by various methods by the experienced full-time teachers. While studying Chinese language, the camper shall study the courses of Chinese features such as calligraphy, painting, music, taijiquan, etc. The curriculum shall be arranged in an innovative, interesting and practical way. Based on the campers’ Chinese language levels, they shall be divided into the Entrance Class, the Elementary Class, the Intermediate Class and the Advanced Class; at the end of the study, they shall be awarded exquisite certificates if they pass the required examination.

Calligraphy and painting: calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting;

The above fees only include tuition, board, lodging, field trip transportation and the first entrance ticket. The above fees exclude visa, round-trip air-ticket, medical service, insurance or the other fees required to go through the local procedure. Please consult the local agency about the definite fees. All these fees shall be paid in US dollars; all the other currencies shall be calculated according to the exchange rate on the very day.

Insurance:
In order to guarantee the camper’s safety while he is staying in China, if he hasn’t purchased the international accident life insurance in his native country, he is required to pay the insurance fee of USD15/person for less than 4 weeks or USD30/person for less than 8 weeks or USD40/person for 10 weeks.
3.Other fees:
a.The student should consult the local agency and pay the following fees: visa, round-trip air ticket, medical service, insurance and the other fees required to go through the local procedure.
b.The overstay fee: For the few students who are unable to arrive (arrive in advance) or leave (overstay) the school as scheduled, we shall charge a daily fee of USD51/day for the 2-week class, USD49/day for the 4-week class, USD48/day for the 6-week class, USD47/day for the 8-week class or USD45/day for the 10-week class.
c.The fee for renting the school vehicle: If the student has special need and wants to use the school vehicle, he should apply in advance and pay the fee of USD20/person/time; USD30/time for 2 people; USD50/time for 3 people; USD70/time for 4 people; USD90/time for 5 people.

If the camper applies to quit the Summer Camp one week before the camp period begins, he shall have all the camp fees refunded; if he applies to quit one day before the camp period begins, he shall have 80% of the camp fees refunded. After the camp period begins, he shall have no camp fees refunded. If he is unable to continue to have the lessons because of sudden disease or force majeure, he shall have the tuition deducted according to the actual number of days for which he has had the lessons (less than one day shall be calculated as one day), he shall have 80% of the remaining fees refunded. To go through the refund procedure, he should go to the Financial Affairs Office on the ending day of the camp period; at the same time, show the receipt for the camp fees, and then, have the refund. |

| 1.If the student becomes ill, how does Huijia handle it?
Answer: When the student becomes ill, our school handles the situation according to his disease. For the ordinary disease, he is treated by the full-time doctor from our school clinic and charged for the related expense. For the serious disease, he is taken to the China-JapanFriendshipHospital and treated there, and he pays for the related expense.
2.Does Huijia provide shower articles (such as shampoo, shower towel, etc)?
Answer: Huijia shall provide the necessary toilet articles such as toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shower towel, etc. For examples:
The high school division shall provide: one toothpaste, one toothbrush, one towel, one shower towel, one pair of disposable slippers.
The primary school division shall provide: one toothpaste, one toothbrush, one towel, one shower towel, one toothbrush cup, one water cup, shared toilet paper and soap.
3.If the child does not know how to wash his clothes, does his life teacher help him?
Answer: The teacher shall help him wash the clothes, but with certain charge.
4.How much pocket money should the student take? Is this money under the care of the school or the student himself?
Answer: It is suggested that the student take the pocket-money of USD30-100. If he wants to go shopping or see a doctor, he probably should prepare more money. He may take care of his money or put it under the care of his teacher.
5.If the student arrives at Huijia in advance, how is he charged? How to pay the airport pick-up fee?
Answer: If the student arrives at the school in advance or leaves the school too late, he is charged a fee of USD51/day for the 2-week class, USD49/day for the 4-week class, USD48/day for the 6-week class, USD47/day for the 8-week class or USD45/day for the 10-week class.
The airport pick-up fee: The school shall provide the airport pick-up service, but the fee shall be paid by the parents separately. The fee shall be USD20/person/time, USD30/time for 2 people, USD50/time for 3 people, USD70/time for 4 people or USD90/time for 5 people.
6.If the parent directly takes his child to register at Huijia, what is the appropriate time for them to arrive?
Answer: According to the school schedule, the registration period is p.m.15:00-18:00 on the beginning day of the Summer Camp. After they arrive, they are received by the designated teacher.
7.Does the child have a regular period to communicate with his parents by telephone or E-mail every week?
Answer: Our school shall arrange 1-2 evenings for the child to communicate with his parents every week. He may use the Internet for one hour each time. Every evening, from 21:00-22:00, he may receive the call from his parents or he may purchase 201 telephone card to make the call to his parents.
8.How many pieces of luggage may the student take on an aircraft?
Answer: Generally speaking, the international airline entering or leaving China allows two pieces of luggage, which is not to be heavier than 72 pounds/piece. But the national airline in China only allows one piece of luggage, which is not to be heavier than 44 pounds. Both the international airline and the national airline allow one hand luggage, which is not to be larger than 45 inches or heavier than 11 pounds. If you want to carry more or heavier luggage, you should pay for the excess luggage.
9.In the aspect of the hygienic condition of food and drinks, what are the points for attention? What about the food and drinks offered at Huijia?
Answer: Chinese foods are many and varied; most of them may be eaten only after being cooked; the fruits may be eaten only after being peeled. Tap water is not drinking water; it may be drunk only after being boiled. While traveling, you had better drink mineral water, which is cheap, and available everywhere. Don’t eat at the stall, and prevent disease from entering by mouth.
HuijiaSchool has Chinese canteen, Western canteen and South Korea canteen for the students to choose. There are full-time cooks to prepare nutritious and varied dishes, which provide the students with a balanced diet. What is worth mentioning, all the vegetables used for the students’ meals are the non-pollution vegetables especially provided by the Huijia Students’ Farm.
10.During the Huijia Chinese Summer Camp, what are the things that the student should bring?
Answer: The student should bring clothes, slippers, pajamas, swimming suit, swimming cap, perfume, sunscreen cream, sunscreen hat, umbrella, etc.
11.How to pay the insurance?
Answer: If the camper hasn’t purchased the international accident life insurance in his native country, he should pay another insurance fee of USD15/person for less than 4 weeks or USD30/person for less than 8 weeks or USD40/person for 10 weeks when registering at the school.

During the summer camp, how does the camper wash his clothes? Is there another fee for washing the clothes?
Answer: During the summer camp, the camper shall wash his own underwear; our school shall provide one laundry service every week free of charge. If the camper wants to wash his clothes every other day, he should pay another fee for the laundry according to the school regulation.
13.During the summer camp, may the camper join the interest group? How does the interest group collect the fee?
Answer: Yes, he may. In order to enrich the extracurricular life, we provide individualized guidance to those specialty students. We offer the interest groups such as piano, violin, erhu, golf, tennis, and painting. For the individualized guidance, there is another fee of USD5/time.
14.If the parent has come to the school with the student, how does Huijia make the related arrangements?
Answer: If the parent has come to our school with the student, while going through the registration and lodging procedure for the student, we shall take the parent to the Financial Affairs Office to pay the lodging fee of 200Yuan/day; then, we shall take him to the No. 8 building; he shall be informed by the attendant of the schedule and voucher price for the meals; he may purchase the vouchers from the attendant (breakfast, 5Yuan/day; lunch and dinner, 10Yuan/day); if he wants to use a taxi, we may book it for him.
15.During the summer camp, what are the schedules for the meals and the lessons?
