In the afternoon on August 24, 2012, the anniversary celebration of Confucius Institute of the University of Zambia was held in Golden Bridge Hotel, Zambia Education Minister Dr. John Pirui, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Mr. Zhou Yuxiao, the commercial counselor Chai ZhiJing, defence attache senior .col He Zhijian, executive vice-chancellor of the University of Zambia Mr. Wilson, Leader of the delegation of Hebei University of Economics and Business, Mr Li Shuhai and his delegation, the Confucius Institute Dean He Yi, CCTV, Xinhua News Agency, Zambia, local radio and television stations, newspapers, important domestic and international media, overseas Chinese, aid medical team, military doctor group, teachers and students of the Confucius Institute of the University of Zambia, primary and secondary school teachers and students, social people from all walks of life of more than 300 people participated in the celebration.

The celebration began with China and Zambia national anthems. Executive vice- chancellor of the University of Zambia references sayings of Confucius, "have friends come from a far place, is it a pleasure?" expressed his warm welcome to the guests and friends who visit Zambia, and show a special thanks to he Chinese Embassy in Zambia and the leader of the Ministry of Education in Zambia for their coming. Mr. Li Shuhai congratulated the achievements of Confucius Institute made in the short two years. Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, Mr. Zhou Yuxiao in his speech indicated that Confucius was a great ancient Chinese philosopher, educationist and thinker, Confucius Institute is the institution to spread Chinese language and culture, to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture would be conducive to Sino-Zambian relations in-depth development.Finally, the Zambian Minister of Education Dr John • Pirui, talked about the long history of Sino-Zambian friendship with humorous language. He thanked Chinese Government and China people for their longtime selfless help and hoped two parties continue to make efforts to continuous development of Sino-Zambian relationship. And Chinese courses was included in the curriculum system of public elementary and secondary schools.

Along with drums music of Zambia's traditional dance, celebration party officially began. Performances by the students and teachers of the Confucius Institute of the University of Zambia, such as Chinese martial arts, the Magic, the band playing and singing away from home, blue sky, pupils performances of martial arts, Hebei folk song Little Cowherd, poetry recitation of the Korean students Jin Xuejing Lane in the Rain and Ma Yuehai tongue twisters and other forms of program, won the audience's applause and got everyone's praise. Subsequently, students from ZTE Corporation, managers Chinese class at the branch of bank of China in Zambia , Chinese language class at Golden Person insurance company , basic Chinese language class at Confucius Institute of the University of Zambia and test takers who passed HSK or YCT went on the stage, sang together Sweet Honey .They received the long-awaited HSK, YCT candidates and report cards from the hands of Chinese Ambassador to Zambia and Zambia Education Minister.

After the anniversary celebration, everybody visited the teaching achievements exhibition of Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia. They were surprised at such a big achievement marvel of Confucius Institute. The atmosphere of entire celebration was warm and passionate.
