On May 9th, 2012, the musicalThe Butterfly Lovers directed by students from London South Bank University was launched at the Tara Theatre, London. The musicalwas adapted from the ancient Chinese romance The Butterfly Lovers.

The 40-minute musical depicted the love story between Liang Shangbo and Zhu Yingtai. The climax lay in the end, whenthe protagonists dressed in butterfly costumes danced gracefully to the famous Chinese piece "Butterfly Lovers". The vivid story, beautiful music, gorgeous stage lighting, performers' affectionate impersonationgrasped the hearts of the audience.

The success of this musical would not have been possible without the fullsupport and encouragement by CITCM and the International office of London South Bank University during its preparation.
