From January 26th to March 22nd, 2012, the Confucius Institute at McMaster University successfully presented a series of Chinese films (with English subtitles), all exciting works from renowned Chinese film makers. Four movies were chosen for the series, including Crouching tiger hidden dragon, Postmen in the mountains, Let the bullets fly and Big shot's funeral.

This event has again received support from both faculty and students at McMaster. These films offered a chance for local people to get a closer look at Chinese history, culture and the modern life in China.

Since its founding in 2008, The Confucius Institute at McMaster has established itself as a language institute as well as a cultural centre, introducing the traditional and modern China to students and communities by organizing such activities.
