Student Support

Our Student Services team

Based on the university campus, the Student Services team is dedicated to supporting you throughout your studies and provides a range of support services that specifically meet the needs of international students. When you arrive in China, the Student Services team will help you settle in to student life and remain your first point of contact for non-academic issues. Our staff speak a range of languages and are available to assist new and prospective students who may not be able to communicate effectively in Chinese. No matter how large or small your problem, there is always someone available to help.

Orientation programme

When you arrive, you will attend an Orientation programme, carefully designed to introduce you to campus life and study in China. It is important that you attend the orientation, which includes a formal academic induction where you will register for your course, receive your timetable and select your modules for academic programmes. It will also include advice for adjusting to daily life to get you set up with a mobile phone, bank account and campus ID cards, plus social activities, which are a great way to meet new friends and explore the city of your studies with new friends.

24-hour support

AIC are dedicated to making you feel totally safe and supported. Upon arrival all students are issued with an emergency telephone number, which can be used to ask for assistance at any time of day or night. Within the student residences, there are wardens who are responsible for the pastoral care of students, and provide an additional source of support.

Cultural activity programme

Our AIC China team organises an active cultural programme, providing you with an opportunity to visit nearby attractions, experience traditional Chinese culture, socialise with your new friends and practise your new Chinese language skills in an informal setting.
