Dalian is located on the western bank of the Pacific Ocean, at the southern tip of Liaodong Peninsula. Bordering the Huanghai Sea on the east and the Bohai Sea on the west, it is an important port city of industry ,trade and tourism. Dalian has jurisdiction over six districts, three county-level cities and one county. Its has an area of about 12,547 square kilometers, with the area of the city proper being 2,415 square kilometers. It has a coastline of 1906 kilometers and a population of 5.9 million. Facing the sea on three directions, Dalian has four distinct seasons, an attractive landscape, a pleasant climate and many beautiful harbours. There is a convenient transportation system. Dalian has a solid industrial foundation, a prosperous financial and commercial base and rich natural resources.
