Home Spa: New Concept of Healthy Living

Spas, best known for their water treatment, achieve therapeutic results by placing special ingredients in water, in which people soak. In recent years, relaxing spa treatments have become popular among young Chinese, especially women who are white-collared employees in the country's largest cities. It is easier than ever before for women to enjoy a spa treatment --- at home. Many new products, such as specially made bathrooms and bathtubs, have appeared in the market in recent years, and that has made it possible for women to enjoy the "luxurious comfort," once reserved for beauty parlors, in their homes.

    Romantic Environment

Some people call a spa the"five-sense organ treatment,"as a spa ---by pleasing one's ears (through music), eyes (through colorful scenery), mouth (through the drinking of scented teas and/or eating of health foods), and the body (through a massage) --- helps one relax. With some thought and creativity, you can create a romantic, comfortable spa environment in your home.

Of course, you will need a bathtub, some products to treat your cuticles, refined bath oil and some massage-related items, such as sponges and gloves made from loofah.

To create a romantic atmosphere in your washroom, you should have gentle lighting, fragrant candles and some flowers or plants that resist heat and humidity.

Given the variety of spa-related products in the market, there is no end to the possibilities. As you enjoy your water massage in your bathtub, accompanied by soft, soothing music and fragrant flowers, you will forget your worries.

    Miraculous Effects

As home spas are becoming increasingly popular in China, many cosmetics companies are developing products, such as refined bath oils and salts and foot-washing liquids. Each product has its own curative effects. Some refined bath oils, for example, are made from roses, and they help shrink capillaries (the smallest blood vessels), regulate a woman's menstrual cycle, and strengthen the functions of ovaries. Tea oil, meanwhile, cures running sores and acne and helps remove dandruff.

    Self-made Products
