Introduction to BJIAS
Beijing International Arts School(Beijing Acrobatic School)is a public secondary school approved by the Beijing Education Committee with an extensive history of international exchanges. We are qualified to recruit students from home and abroad and are an important base for producing professional artists.

Location and Environment
 We are located in the Beijing Economic & Technological Development Area (BDA), surrounded by a beautiful neighbourhood and within walking distance to all major public transportation. We are equipped with first-class teaching facilities and a campus area of 66,786 square meters. There are nearly 30 modern training halls, sound labs, computer rooms, paint workshops and multimedia classrooms. A beautiful, quiet campus with comfortable student dormitories and a modern dining hall provides a perfect environment for students to study, dine and relax.

School Honors
Since the founding of our school in 1999, our teachers have tenaciously improved the standard of teaching at our school year by year, and our level of teaching is endorsed by related specialists. In 2003 and 2009, our school passed the evaluation by the Education Inspector Office of Beijing Municipal Government, became a Superior Vocational School in 2006, and also became a key secondary school by the Beijing Education Committee in 2009. In addition, our school sailed through the education administration evaluation of foreign students which organized by Beijing Education Committee, Beijing Association of Expatriate Students’ Education and Division of Exit-Entry Administration of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau.
Russian students attended the 6th International Circus Competition  in the Italian and the Monte Carlo 《Debut Stage》 International Acrobatic Competition and recieved silver medals in both competitions. In addition, Russian students won the gold medal in the first of Youth Acrobatic Festival in Moscow.
Korean students joined the "Shi Du Cup" Traditional Martial Arts Competition in Beijing and won the first prize. In addition, our school’s foreign students annually participate in the “Multi-Cultural Festival” and “Chinese Language Festival” and have won first prize many times.
Foreign students who learn diploma courses graduating from the school can reach the university entry requirements not only in specialties but also in Chinese language. All foreign students can be admitted to their ideal colleges and universities and our school’s enrolment rate is 100%.

School Dimensions
We have modern training halls, sound labs, computer rooms, paint workshops and multimedia classrooms. Our School can accommodate 1000 Chinese and foreign students. Since the founding of our school, nearly 200 foreign students from the USA, France, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Australia, Germany, Holland, Indonesia, Myanmar, Denmark, Brazil, more than 30 countries, have studied at our school or had shot-term training.

Teaching ability
We employ many well-experienced qualified teachers as well as some of China’s best young graduates. In addition, we regularly invite renowned instructors and professors, from art colleges and universities, to give lectures or seminars in all majors. We use the same textbooks as academic institutions to teach our students. Our goal is to produce high quality students for arts colleges and universities, and excellent professional artists for specialized art troupes, enterprises and institutions.

Living Conditions
The school provides students with comfortable, affordable accommodation.
Our school has a 24-hour clinic service for foreign students.
Foreign students have meals in the dining hall which provides both Chinese and western cuisine.

Courses Offering
The school offers Dance, Fine Arts, Martial Arts, Performance and Acrobatics. Among them, the Acrobatics, Dance and Martial arts majors are six-years programs, the Performance is three-years programs, the Fine Arts is four-years programs . Foreign students are free to choose the length of their course.
An average day of study includes a half-day of academic courses and with the remaining half placing emphasis on major study. The school offers several diploma programs including: English, Math, History, Geography, Computer course and so on. Foreign students, whose Chinese level has reached HSK5 or more than 5 grades can choose to study in the same classes with Chinese students. A graduation certificate will be awarded upon a satisfactory completion of their course.

Acrobatic Specialty
As the original sole focus of the Beijing International Arts School (Beijing Acrobatic School), The Acrobatics Department is the premier specialty that has a world recognised reputation both at home and internationally. The acrobatic curriculum is broken down into the following basic learning blocks:

The teaching staff are selected from all over China, teachers are chosen for their expertise and innovation. Highly trained and motivated, the BJIAS acrobatic teachers are ready to pass on their skill and experience to the next generation of acrobats.
Since its creation, Beijing International Arts School (Beijing Acrobatic School) has produced some of the country’s most recognised performers, especially for the China National Acrobatic Troupe. Graduates from the Acrobatic program have toured over 50 countries and regions with the China National Acrobatic Troupe, bringing their unique brand of Chinese Acrobatics to foreign audiences.
Since the beginning, Beijing International Arts School (Beijing Acrobatic School)  students have enjoyed a solid reputation in both local and international competitions. 14 gold medals have been won independently, and 10 gold medals have been won in collaboration with other acrobatic troupers.
The Acrobatics Department also operates a foreign students division  which has trained students from all over the world including (but not limited to) Australia, Russia, The United States, France, South Korea, Japan, Myanmar and Vietnam.
The Acrobatic Specialty is the flagship of BJIAS. Honoured guests are regularly received and the school has drawn lots of attention and critical praise from both international and local arts and news media, highlighting China’s artistic education program.

Martial Arts Specialty
The Martial Arts Specialty is one of the core departments of the Beijing International Arts School (Beijing Acrobatic School). The major has two main focuses;

• Artistry
The martial arts curriculum is broken down into the following basic learning blocks;
• Fundamentals
• Forms
• Application of techniques
• Chinese boxing
• Performance
The major exposes the student to many different styles of martial arts such as Kick Boxing and Taekwondo.
The Department adheres to standardised teaching methods and strict management to foster martial discipline, morality and spirit, two key components to creating good martial artists.
The teaching staff are all highly trained, experienced teachers from a variety of backgrounds including graduates from the martial arts faculty of Beijing Physical Education University. The department also regularly host guest teachers to ensure that the curriculum remains up to date with the latest training methods.
Graduates who successfully complete the course will have fulfilled all the requirements of Chinese Second-Class Athletes and have the necessary skills to seek employment in the movie and television industries.

Dance Specialty
The Dance Department’s aim is to produce highly trained, professional graduates who are well prepared for further training at art colleges and universities. The Dance curriculum is broken down into the following basic learning blocks:
• Ballet
• Chinese Folk and Ethnic Dance
• Dance Technique
• Modern Dance
• Direction
• Music Theory
Students studying dance will do so on top of the regular subject load for junior and senior high school students. Foreign students have the opportunity to study Chinese language on top of their dance training.
The teaching staff are all highly trained, experienced teachers from a variety of backgrounds including graduates from the Beijing Dance Institute. The department also employs senior professors from the Beijing Dance Institute as well other Institute subject directors, all of which teach classes directly to students.

Fine Arts Specialty
The Fine Arts specialty is one of the largest-scale majors at the Beijing International Arts School (Beijing Acrobatic School). The aims of the Fine Arts Department are to produce highly trained, professional graduates who are well prepared for further training at fine arts colleges and universities and to offer people with considerable fine arts abilities and working abilities to various public institutions.
The teaching staff is composed of two groups:
• young teachers who are graduates from the Institute Central of Fine Art and other universities.
• Professional teachers with rich teaching experiences and remarkable specialized ability.
The school employs some senior experts and professors from the Institute Central of Fine Art and other specialty universities as instructors for special subjects. Beijing International Arts School has received unanimous praise from experts for the sound teaching quality.
Beijing International Arts School (Beijing Acrobatic School) has advanced teaching infrastructure, standardized teaching and a strict attitude toward study, sticking to the principle of valuing cultural and specialized subjects equally. The Fine Arts Department has the country’s top-flight daylight classroom. The subjects include courses of sketch, chromatics, design, traditional Chinese painting and fine art historical theory.
Students studying Fine Arts will be doing so on top of the regular subject load for senior high school students. Foreign students have the opportunity to study Chinese language on top of their major.

Performing Arts Specialty
The Performing Arts Specialty follows two primary principles:
• Attach equal importance to cultural and specializing subjects.
• Combine the study of performance theory with cultivation of students’ art cognition.
These two principles enable students to master the performance skills and basic performance knowledge firmly, as well as improve their comprehensive ability of directing and performing.
The main curriculums include:
• performance
• vocalism
• lines of the actor or actress
• physique
• theory of movies and television
• art theory
• appreciation for music
• the common sense of traditional opera
The aims of the Performing Arts Department are to produce highly trained, professional graduates for film colleges and universities and to offer people with considerable performing abilities to various troupes.
The teaching staff comprises of professional teachers who graduated from the Central Opera Institute and other universities and have many years of performance experience. Beijing International Arts School (Beijing Acrobatic School) regularly invites senior professors from the Central Academy of Drama and Beijing Film Academy as well as other famous universities to come to the school to teach.

Year Breakdown
The school has two semesters in each year. The first semester is from September 1st to the middle of January. The second semester starts at the end of February and ends during the middle of July. Foreign students are able to apply for enrollment in each semester. Acrobatic students can apply for enrollment at any moment.

Application Process
Fill in the Application Form for Admission to Beijing International Arts School (Beijing Acrobatics School) (the Application Form can be downloaded from our web page http://www.bjias.com/english/index.jsp) and return it with an application fee of US $50 and 《Visa Application for Study in China》fee of US $50 to the Foreign Student Office by mail or delivered to the Office.
Upon receiving the above requested application package, an Admission Letter will be mailed to the accepted applicant after two weeks. The accepted applicant can then apply for an (L) Visa at a Chinese Embassy or Consulate. The school will get the (X) Visa and residence permit ready for the student after he or she has arrived in China.

Required Documents
(1) Application Form for Admission to Beijing International Arts School (Beijing Acrobatics School);
(2) Copy of the applicant’s passport;
(3) Copies of the passports of the applicant’s parents if the applicant is under 18 years of age;
(4) 10 passport photos of the applicant, 2 inches, bareheaded, light blue background;
(5) Two copies each of the applicant’s Guardian’s Guarantee and Notarial Deed if the applicant is under 18 years of age;
(6) A Power of Attorney and Notarial Deed which the guardian gets from the applicant’s parents if the applicant is under 18 years of age;
(7) An Authorized Physical Examination Record or Health Form (Alternatively you can do the Physical Examination after arriving in China).
