Jiangxi enjoys the advantage of its rich and typical mineral resources. Up till now,  more than 160 kinds of known mineral resources, more than 140 types of mineral resources have been discovered in Jiangxi, and 33 of whose reserves are ranked the nation's top five. 12 types of single mineral reserve such as copper, tungsten, tantalum, cesium, thallium, scandium, gold, silver, uranium, thorium, etc are ranked the first. Copper, wolfram, uranium, tantalum niobium, rare earths, gold, and silver are known as Seven Metal Flowers in Jiangxi. Also the southern Jiangxi is known as the World Wolfram Capital and Rare Earths Kingdom. Dexing Copper Mine is the largest of its kind in Asia and Guixi Smeltery is China's largest copper smelting base.
